Seeing my clients leave completely happy with their new set of hair extensions at the end of their installation is what I love most about being a hair extension technician! Sometimes it's easy, and sometimes it will take patience and dedication as a professional to achieve the results your client is looking for. I believe choosing a hair extension technician who is willing to be there with you through this process is one of the most important factors. No one wants to spend hundreds of dollars on beauty products to end up unhappy and unsatisfied.
I'd like to share my experience with this client to show that every set of hair extensions I install is important to me. I'm not just doing this to make money, but to ,more importantly, help all my clients end up with results they truly love.
This client came in for a consultation, and we did a color match. The color swatch we used matched perfectly in daylight, my client even agreed. We then booked an appointment, I ordered the hair for her and we were both excited to do the install a couple days later. But once the hair arrived, I was worried that the color seemed off, especially when I saw the color in bulk as compared to a small sample. Wanting to make sure we were both still happy with the final color before installing it, I left the hair in the original packaging so it could be returned or exchanged if needed. My client arrived the next day, and together we looked at the extensions up against her natural hair, and as I suspected, they did not blend perfectly. We could have still used these extensions and achieved a highlighted look with my clients blonde hair, but I did not feel that either of us would be completely happy with the results. We then spent the next hour going through all the color samples and packages of hair I had, to see if we could find a better match. But in the end we felt that her blonde hair was not an exact match to any of the samples, and together we decided that it would be best to try and dye the extensions (dyeing is recommended over bleaching) so they would match her natural hair. We are now in the process of going to several hair professionals, including hairdressers and beauty supply stores to find out the best products to use to match the colors. It is so important to me that I'm not just there to install the hair extensions for my clients, but to be there throughout the whole process. From beginning to end, through the good and bad.
